PRIVACY — CUTFAST

 

This section describes how our CutFast plugin handles data. Our services are covered in their own section of this policy.

 

CutFast is a plugin that runs on your computer. It is not a hosted service. The only ALM Media server it uses is the AI relay described below, and only when you run an AI feature on the credits included with your plan.

 

WHAT NEVER LEAVES YOUR MACHINE

Your video and audio files. Your transcripts. Your project files, sequence names and file paths. Your notes and checklists. Your usage statistics, which are counted locally and stored on your own disk. Speech transcription runs entirely on your computer using a local model, so your footage is never uploaded to anyone, including us.

 

WHAT DOES LEAVE YOUR MACHINE, AND ONLY WHEN YOU USE THOSE FEATURES

CutFast can only connect to the specific internet addresses listed in its manifest file, which Adobe Premiere Pro enforces. It cannot reach anywhere else. Those are:

 

– CutFast AI credits, when you use an AI feature on the credits included with your plan (the default). The text of that request, and your licence key so the credits can be matched to you, go to ALM Media’s relay at almano.media, which sends the request to our AI provider using ALM Media’s own account. The relay keeps the answer for at most 24 hours so CutFast can collect it, then deletes it. It never writes what you sent to its logs, and it stores your licence key only as a one-way fingerprint. Our AI provider handles the request under its own privacy policy.

– Our AI provider directly, only if you switch Settings to your own API key. The text of that request is sent using your key, and the provider handles it under their privacy policy. We never see it.

– Our licensing provider, to check your licence key is valid. Only the licence key and a name for your computer are sent. No personal data, no project data.

– Our bug reporting service, and only if you choose to send a bug report. You see exactly what will be sent before you send it, and you choose whether to include the diagnostic log. Your API key, client names, project names and file paths are removed automatically before sending.

– Hugging Face, once, when you download a speech recognition model. Nothing about you is sent.

– almano.media and GitHub, to check for and download CutFast updates. Nothing about you or your work is sent.

 

NO TELEMETRY

CutFast contains no analytics and no tracking. We do not know when you use it, what you edit, or which features you use. There is nothing to opt out of, because there is nothing collecting.

 

WHAT WE HOLD WHEN YOU BUY CUTFAST

Our payment provider processes your payment and holds your billing details under their own privacy policy. We see your email address and your order, so that we can support you and manage your licence. We do not sell or share it.
